Flensted Mobiles | Danish Hanging Mobiles

In 1953 Christian Flensted made his first mobile to celebrate the christening of his daughter; he cut out three storks, mounted them in two straws, and the first Flensted Mobile was made!

Fast forward 65 years and the Danish company is still making beautiful mobiles which are distributed worldwide.  A Flensted mobile is not only designed in Denmark, it is also handmade in Denmark, assembled by 60 homeworkers spread over Funen, the island of Hans Christian Andersen.  The mobiles all hang from similar lightweight frames which allow them to dance effortlessly from even the faintest air movement.
