Fun Makes Good is a Scottish design studio, founded in 2009 by Glasgow School of Art textiles graduate Eleanor Young. With a specialism in contemporary patchwork, the studio produces bold, bright, design-led interior products and upholstery as well as large scale bespoke pieces for commercial spaces and the public realm.
Their distinctive designs combine a love for pattern with striking colour and texture with inspiration stemming from a wide range of sources including contemporary architectural forms, geometric shapes, traditional craft techniques and unusual found objects. Their textiles are all constructed by hand in their Perthshire studio. By sourcing the finest local materials wherever possible, combining rich and contrasting textures such as wools, leather, linen and velvets alongside elements of machine embroidery and quilting, they create striking pieces that are tactile, practical and ultimately uplifting.
