Mother's Day in the UK is fast approaching. This can be a difficult time for many, so perhaps the best way about thinking of this day is simply to celebrate all those wonderful ladies in our lives - whether they be mum's, granny's, auntie's, step-mothers, awesome best friends, carer's or any other wonderful human who happens to be special. The truth is there are so many amazing ladies out there and it is a lovely thing to spend a day thinking of them and thanking them.
Ideas For Mother's Day on a Budget
So what can we do? Of course there are simple things we can do that will not cost a penny and can mean much more than a present; perhaps the best gift of all is time. Spend some time with those that are special - go for a walk in the sunshine and make sure they know what they mean to you. With so many awful things happening in the world right now it really makes us cherish those that we hold dear and makes us realise how fragile it all is. Why not bake a cake, come on, who doesn't love being presented with a cake!
We have some options at Urban Coo that hit various price points so hopefully can meet most budgets.
Gifts for Passing Down the Generations
TheArchitectMade wooden penguin is our most treasured piece. When we started Urban Coo it was the first item that we knew we had to sell and it has since remained our bestseller. The Penguin's have a wonderful elegant beauty and are real investment pieces. Certainly in our home our Penguin's make me smile every day - I love the way the younger penguin is looking up at it's mother full of trust and admiration. They are a very special gift.
How about something a little different like thisBeads Crystal Candle Holderwhich uses a special bonding technique to reveal and unique tie-dye affect that plays with colour and light. It is an eye catching piece!
Traditional Gifts
Well we say traditional, these ones are a modern alternative to traditional flowers. They are real and they are natural but they are preserved flowers so that they will last for a year or more. They are packed in letterbox packaging and are absolutely stunning. There are lots of bunches to choose from.
How about these fab striped dinner candles? They are a fun, a little bit different and super stylish.
A Pampering Gift
These gift sets from Merakiare quite special. The hand soap is super nice as it is slightly exfoliating and when followed with the lotion it leaves your hands felling tip top.
Or how about this perfume set? From UK beauty innovator's Haeckels this one smells good and you can rest easy that it comes from sustainable resources and the packaging is biodegradable so can be planted in your back garden!
A Gift for the Bird Lover
We have some seriously stylish bird feeders and shelters which would make the perfect gift and one that will bring joy for a long time.
And last but not least how about the gift of Chocolate?
Love Cocoais the creation of James Cadbury, the great-great-great grandson of the chocolatier John Cadbury. The mission of James Cadbury is to make great tasting chocolate here in the UK which is both sustainable and irresistible. One tree planted for every bar sold. On top of that, the artwork is super special and we have oat milk chocolate too... yes that that!
We are hoping that this gives you some ideas to treat that someone special to you. Check out our gifts & lifestylecollection for many more options that will suit all budgets.
